Sevanavank
Sevanavank is a historical complex located on the shore of Lake Sevan. The Sevanavank monastic complex was built in the 9th century on top of a mountain, offering a magnificent view of Lake Sevan and the surrounding landscapes. For centuries, it served as a religious and cultural center. The monastic complex includes two churches — Surp Arakelots and Surp Astvatsatsin — as well as other structures such as cells and assembly halls. In addition to the monastery, remnants of ancient defensive walls and towers can be seen on the grounds of the Sevanavank complex. These structures testify to the strategic importance of the location and its use by the military in the past.
