At this location, according to eyewitness accounts, cars in neutral gear start moving uphill, contrary to the laws of physics. This phenomenon has been investigated by many travelers, bloggers, and even scientists, but so far there is no definitive explanation. Some believe it is an optical illusion caused by the peculiarities of the terrain and the horizon, while others attribute the occurrence to geomagnetic anomalies or energy flows. Regardless of the explanations, the zone creates a strong impression and a sense of mystery. This is an excellent moment to surprise tourists and make an interactive stop, offering to test the effect in a car or simply observe what is happening.
Amberd is a historical complex located on the slope of Mount Aragats, consisting of a 7th-century castle and an 11th-century church. It is situated at an altitude of 2300 meters above sea level. It is believed that the castle was founded by the Kamsarakan princes, and later passed into the possession of the Armenian military commander Vahram Pahlavuni. The church within the complex was built in 1026. Numerous underground passages led from the castle down into the gorge, some of which can still be found today. According to some sources, the church and the fortress, as well as other nearby monuments, were founded by Ashot the Iron.
Kari Lake is a high-altitude lake in Armenia, located on the slopes of Mount Aragats. In winter, the lake is mostly covered with snow and ice. It is situated at an altitude of 3207 m above sea level, on a plateau beneath mountain peaks. The shoreline length is 1150 m, the surface area is 30.0 hectares, the volume is 357 thousand m³, and the maximum depth is 8 meters. The lake is of glacial origin. This endorheic body of water owes its name to folklore: according to ancient beliefs, it is the 'stone rivers,' called kurums, that feed the lake.
